My daily natural skincare routine.

Mar 9, 2018

Though natural beauty and skincare products are very much on the rise, they're still far from being mainstream. They're often more expensive than your regular drugstore or supermarket alternative, and definitely a leap from the brands we have all known and used for years. That's why diving into natural beauty, body and skincare products might feel a little risky to some.

I must say, I feel pretty damn good banning (certainly unnecessary but more probably harmful) chemicals from my daily routine. It's not as if I notice any shocking differences in my body, it's more of a mental thing. Like I feel safer using these products and also like I am taking care of my body in a more intentional way.

Anyhow, I'm not here to convince anyone of the pros of natural beauty products. I'm sure there are more than enough people who've already taken on that job and do it way better than I ever could. I'm just here to give some of my honest, independent and non-sponsered reviews on products that I recommend to anyone who is already interested in natural beauty, but doesn't really know where to start. I already talked to you about my favourite make-up products, and today I'm sharing some much loved bathing, body and skincare products.
My main beauty moment is in the evening. Every day, after yoga, I take a shower (or a bath on Monday) with my delicious smelling Urtekram Coconut shower gel. It has a rich honeylike consistency and foams really nicely. On my face I use Mádara Purifying Foam, which is perfectly soft, fluffy and delicate and easily rinses away all my make-up. It doesn't leave my skin feeling dry or itchy at all afterwards. Though I do switch to Dr. Organic Tea Tree Face Wash sometimes, mainly when I feel a breakout coming up. In the lower regions I use Douce Nature Intimite Gel, which I love for its subtle perfume and softness.

After my shower I generously apply Urtekram Coconut Bodylotion (I really should do this every night, but I'm ofte too lazy, so I probably take this step only 2 or 3 times a week). I love using matching shower gel and body lotion, It makes me feel so luxurious. This creamy yet light bodylotion is everything I need to revive my dry legs and all the other patches of skin that feel sligtly itchy during these last winter days.

My face gets a thin layer of Cîme Daisy Delight day & night cream. A super light, absolutely non-greasy cream, which is perfect for people who easily get clogged pores, like me. I would't reccommend it to people with rather dry skin though, since it has such a light texture. On days when I feel like my skin just needs that little bit of extra comfort (again, those cold winter days) I first apply a few drops of Kiehl's midnight recovery serum. I'm still using up that bottle, but I'm on the lookout for a better alternative (I've become a bit sceptical about Kiehl's since reading this).

On my lips I use Weleda Lip Balm, in the evening as well as in the morning before applying make-up (and multiple times during the day depending on the state of my lips, which I must say has generally improved by using my lip balm consistently and preventive). It smells like bee's wax with subtle vanilla and roses perfume and is the best lip balm I have encountered so far.

I finish up with some Cîme For your hands only handcream, which is perfect for people who like a handcream that is non-sticky and dries up quickly. I'm personally still on the lookout for somewhat richer handcream, so if anyone has reccomendations, leave 'em in the comments below!
